COVID-19 UPDATE NSW - 24th July 2020

Dear Church,

You may have already heard that due to recent outbreaks there are some updated restrictions on church gatherings in NSW coming into effect from 12AM Friday, 24 July 2020. In light of this, we have made the decision to implement the following changes to our Sunday gatherings in the weeks to come commencing this Sunday, 26 July 2020.

THIS WEEKEND: Sunday 26 July 2020

ONSITE SERVICE will be closed until further notice when it is deemed the situation is more under control.

LIVE STREAMING at 10AM will run as normal. Click on the Live Stream button at the top of this page to watch.

As a church, we are taking our part to help NSW government in their effort to flatten the curve of the virus outbreak.

Stay strong in the Lord. Stay healthy.

Ps. Yappy & Fefe

COVID-19 UPDATE NSW - 14th July 2020

Ecclesia Mission church, Maroubra campus will resume on-site services from Sunday 19th July!

This is a decision that we, as a church, took based on recent advice from the government. As the situation is still unfolding, we will keep vigilance and continually reassess our practice as we go.

Like most activities in the community that are starting to resume, we will adhere to the government’s advice and guidelines in order to maintain a safe environment for our congregations and the broader community.

We fully understand that during this transitional period, not everyone feels comfortable attending church. As such, our online team will live-stream our service every week at our regular service time. Please visit our YouTube channel to watch the live stream. Don't forget to subscribe and make sure you join the service from home on Sunday at 10am.

As a place of worship, we are permitted to 1 person per 4 sqm inside our church. This is great news for us as we have enough space in our main hall to hold the service in comfort and safety. Every room within our building, including the Sunday School rooms, will have appropriate signage to display the permitted capacity of the room.

We have also rearranged our stage and seatings in the main hall to allow better physical distancing practice as well as supporting the live-stream recording.

You will notice some seats are marked, please sit on the unmarked seats. Members of the same family can sit together.

Registration to attend the service is essential and in order to comply with government guidelines your name and contact details must be provided.  Please spend a short moment to register (one registration for the whole family).

During this transition period as we are adjusting to the new normal, our Sunday Service will be shorter than normal. We will start as usual at 10am and finish at 11am.

We encourage all congregations to avoid crowding in a particular area of the church either before or after the service. We respectfully ask you to please continue to maintain social distancing requirements outside the church building as you are leaving the church premises.

Food will not be provided after the service and you are encouraged to bring bottled drinks for you and your family (especially if you have kids). While all these new practices will feel strange and bring inconvenience, please understand that we do this with the health and safety of our congregations and greater community in mind.

The church will be regularly and adequately cleaned before and after the service. Cleaning products, wipes and hand sanitizers will also be provided at church at various locations.

As the pandemic is still unfolding in other areas in Australia and the world, we will continue to avoid physical contact and maintain physical distance. We discourage practices such as shaking-hands, hugging and kissing at least during this period.

While the Host team will welcome you lovingly and joyfully as you are arriving at the church, please do understand they will not greet you in the usual way by shaking hands. But not to worry, we will all be there to greet you with a warm smile!

There will not be any printed materials or communion passed around during service.  Disposable (pre-packaged) communion packs will be provided for Holy Communion (first Sundays of the month).

For giving (offering) we will no longer invite the congregation to walk to the front and put offering in the box. This is necessary to avoid crowding. The offering box will be placed near the entrance (foyer) and you are free to give either before or after the service. This said, we encourage you to give via online giving or via bank transfer rather than in cash. If you prefer to give in cash please prepare your own envelope at home as we will not be providing envelopes like we used to. For more details on how to give, please visit our offering page.

As group singing is discouraged, during the worship session only the Worship Leaders and Singers will sing songs. Eventhough church members cannot participate in the singing, we trust that we can still keep our worship posture and show our devotion to our Lord in different ways.

To maintain a safe worship environment, we kindly ask that if any of the following apply to you, please do not attend the service:

  • If you feel unwell or are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (eg: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, sneezing/runny nose or loss of sense of smell);

  • If you have COVID-19 or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test;

  • If you have been in close contact with any known or suspected cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days;

  • If you have returned from overseas travel in the past 14 days.

Our Sunday School programs is also back in full swing from Sunday 19th July! In the last few months, our Sunday School team has done an incredible job of providing the lessons via Zoom. We are looking into options for online offerings for kids who are unable to attend, we will provide further information if they become available.

We miss you SO much and cannot wait to see you in person very soon!

With Love,

Ecclesia Mission Eastern Pastoral team
